About this document

This section helps first-time Quectel Pi H1 users inspect the kit, connect the hardware, start the system, and enter the development environment. The board specifications and basic Linux operations are introduced in later sections using illustrated procedures.

Document structure

  • Part 1: Quick start (recommended). Includes “Getting to know Quectel Pi H1 smart single-board computer” and “First startup”, covering the board hardware, system startup, network setup, and your first Hello World program.

  • Part 2: Debian tutorial (optional). Introduces file management, permissions, package installation, and common system commands for readers who are new to the Linux command line.

Usage recommendations

  • Hardware preparation: Before using the board for the first time, read the safety information in “First startup” to avoid damaging the hardware.

  • Choose a setup: “First startup” provides separate procedures for setups with and without an external monitor. Follow the procedure that matches your setup.

  • For experienced Linux users: If you are familiar with the command line and package management tool, skip “Debian tutorial” and continue to “Advanced development guidance”.
